Join Best of America by Horseback for a mid-week horse camping, trail riding getaway in San Miguel, California at Work Family Guest Ranch! This 12,000 acre, family-owned ranch is located halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles in the rolling countryside of the Cholame Hills and offers numerous trails for a variety of skill levels. Guests can bring their own horse or rent one from the ranch (very limited!). On-site demonstrations, clinics, and meals (details below!) will be provided by the Back Country Horsemen of California – Los Padres Unit (BCHC-LP).

Schedule: March 17-18, 2020
The two hour filmed trail ride will take place Tuesday, March 17 before lunch. More riding, clinics, and demonstrations will be scheduled. The final schedule will be emailed to riders registered with Best of America by Horseback as we get closer to the ride.

Accommodations: primitive camping
Work Ranch will provide water for horses via a truck and port-a-potties. Riders will need to provide their own horse containment.

Packing on mules;
Proper saws to use, what is allowed while out in wilderness, and type of saw cuts;
Proper saddle cleaning and maintenance;

Monday, 3/16– Potluck dinner with Meet and Greet
Tuesday, 3/17– Breakfast: Hot cowboy breakfast; Lunch: Beef stew, corn bread, pinto beans, salad, dessert, drinks; Dinner: BBQ Tritip, BBQ Chicken, BBQ corn on the cobb, salad, veggies, garlic bread, dessert
Wednesday, 3/18– Breakfast: Dutch oven Cinnamon rolls; Lunch: Tritip sandwiches, homemade salsa n chips, salad, dessert, drinks

Rider Fees:
$175 per person to register with BOABH
Rider Fee includes: the filmed trail ride, all meals, guided rides, and demos. Camping fees and rental horses are paid separately.
